On Monday U.S. investors made a profit as they waited for an attack on corporate earnings reports which may be weak after the fiscal cliff uncertainty in Washington. Weighing the down on the broader market, was Apple Inc. (AAPL) as it slumped on reports that it had cut orders for LCD screens, due to weak demand for its new iPhone 5.

European equities fell today with a U.S. equities sell-off over concerns the Apple iPhone 5 demand which caused some profit-taking on the latest European stock gains. Charts indicated that European indices nearing overbought market conditions and in the short term there might be a bit of pull-back although the market’s medium-term outlook remains positive.
